09 Jun ALBERTO ROMERO: CHANGE OF…
Today we interview Alberto Romero, an athlete who has had a great evolution in recent years and who today is going to reveal his last step to become a great athlete.
This is what he told us about his career in the triathlon world:
“I have been in the Moncada Triathlon Club since my inception 8 seasons ago, where I started training and learning what triathlon was from the hand of Emilio Aguayo. I was lucky that at that time there was a great team with people who beat me in any of the three disciplines and that due to my competitive nature motivated me to strive every day.
After many seasons and after the advice of my coach I made the jump to run in France and that was a world in which I had not imagined being able to be one day and in which I do not know how I have already 4 seasons and many accumulated experiences. But those years were still part of the Moncada here in Spain.
With the results of recent years and the club’s decision not to participate in the National League, it made me think that it was time to leave, but it had to be something that excited me and gave me things that I did not have in Moncada. Thanks to Javi Lluch, a training partner who told me that if I was leaving it had to be yes or yes to the City of Lugo Fluvial, that we were going to have a great time.
The truth is that it did not have to convince me much, for me it is historically the best team in the country and where great triathletes like J. Gomez, Sara Perez, Pablo Dapena, Saleta Castro and a very long etc. have been or are. So a couple of conversations on the phone and one in person at the Under-23 European Cup in Valencia were enough.
So this year I was looking forward to the season and swimming more than ever when the covid19 appeared.
But I am convinced that we will continue with the same enthusiasm when this happens and I hope I can win many things with the team and with you at CINC.”
