14 Aug ALICE IN POST-COVID COMPETITION
We want to dedicate today’s post to one of the few competitions that have been held after the return to normality. We are very happy that these events are being held, but always complying with all security measures and with great respect for athletes.
Last weekend, the Sprint Distance Championship was held in Poland, and one of our international athletes was there competing.
These are Alice’s words after the competition:
“After the quarantine and the whole global situation, I was not so sure if there would be any races this year. Fortunately, I was able to compete in the sprint distance of the Polish championship that took place on 25.7 in Rawa Mazowiecka.
I had many ambitions to defend my 2020 season title.
The tactic was simple from the beginning: be the first to get out of the water, ride the bike alone and try to cross the finish line as the first.
Unfortunately, it wasn’t my day. Coming out of the water as the leader, I twisted my foot a bit and suffered all the race. Anyway, I kept fighting until the end and I managed to cross the finish line in 4th position.
They say that it is the worst possible place for the athlete. Well, I was struggling with the pain a lot more than thinking about the final position.
Coming off the podium, I am hungry to improve and be a faster and a better triathlete. “
From all CINC team, we want to thank Alice for her words and for her great work. We wish her the best of luck in future competitions and hopefully we can see her compete again soon.
